Swarthmoor Hall is a 17th century country house set in beautiful gardens. It is known as the cradle of Quakerism as it was here in 1652 that the movement was founded during a time of enormous religious and political turmoil. There are six historic rooms to view and the turbulent history of the Hall and its inhabitants is retold in throughout the house. The barn café continues the Hall’s centuries old reputation for hospitality, serving delicious sweet and savoury treats.
