Cumbria and the Lake District are closer than you think and easily reached from all over the UK. The nearest airports are at Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, and the average journey time from London to Oxenholme by train is 2 hours and 50 minutes.

As well as using the car, the county is also well served by trains including the West Coast Main Line and the picturesque coastal train route between Carlisle and Barrow.
