|We are delighted to hear about the first phase of Askham Hall Gardens gradual re-opening. They will re-open to the public on Saturday 20 June, 11.30 am to 7.30 pm, and be open every day until further notice.
They’re firing up their popular wood-fired pizza oven and will be offering take away pizzas from outside the cafe (from 12 to 7) using fresh ingredients straight from our kitchen gardens, tray bakes and drinks. For the first time ever they’ll be operating the pizza oven through to the early evening! Outdoor seating (rest areas only) and toilets available.
Dogs permitted in the outdoor cafe area but not the main gardens.
Beautiful grade II listed gardens
Take a stroll around their spacious 12 acre grade II listed gardens, full of colourful terraces, a 230ft long double herbaceous border, unusual species of plants, formal lawns, kitchen gardens, fruit cages, woodland, meadows, animal trails and ponds.
The gardens are looking amazing at this time of year, and the gardeners have been super busy during lockdown (socially distanced of course!). For the past few months they have been extending the kitchen gardens in order to maintain the increased demand for the supply of fruit, vegetables and edible flowers to all their restaurants at Askham Hall, the Queen’s Head and the George and Dragon.
Garden entry is £4 per adult, under 16s free. You do not need to pay garden entry to visit the outdoor cafe area for takeaway pizza and drinks.
In line with government guidelines, they’ll be operating a fully ‘Covid-19 secure’ environment, details of which can be found here.
After almost 3 months of closure, they are super excited and really can’t wait to see you all!!
